Livin' La Vida Local in
MEXICO

February 16-23, 2023

Are you ready to head with me to Mexico for the ultimate cultural experience? One thing I pride myself on when traveling is culture immersion. I genuinely enjoy spending time with locals and immersing myself in local culture because it is the best way to learn about and appreciate the places you're traveling to.

I moved to Mexico in 2021 and, for the past year, I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring every aspect of culture that this beautiful country has to offer. I'm super excited to bring you along as we explore Mexico City and Guadalajara. Mexico City and Guadalajara have provided the world with wonderful gifts like tequila, tacos, and mariachi and, during this experience, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture of both cities. The question is: Are you ready for the authentic side of Mexico?

This trip is for people who:

  1. Enjoy learning about local culture (ex: food and people) when they're traveling

  2. Are open-minded and respectful of others' cultures

  3. Are into culture immersion with a side of mid-level luxury

  4. Interested in meeting new people (locals and foreigners)

  5. Love having random fun and engaging experiences

  6. Excited to find both local and touristy spots in Mexico City and Guadalajara

Day 1

You've made it to beautiful and culturally-enriched Mexico!! You will be picked up by our friendly, experienced, and professional transportation team. Take some time to enjoy your first few hours: go for a swim, catch some ZZZs, catch up on some work,

whatever you like.

It's time to meet your travel family (if you haven't met them already). You are here for an array  of cultural experiences and what better way to start than with a gastronomically-inclined culinary experience? After enjoying local Mexican cuisine, we'll hit the streets for some fun but not too much because we've got an early day ahead of us!

Day 2

Today is your first full day in Mexico. We will start the morning off with a hearty breakfast before heading on our day trip to one of the most Instagram-worthy "hidden gems" in Mexico.

We'll spend the day exploring Grutas Tolantongo. Access to Grutas Tolantongo includes swimming, caves, tunnels, rivers, naturally-heated thermal pools, bridges, waterfalls, and many other natural goodies featuring the bluest water you ever did see! There are many opportunities for lunch and drinks here so, while basking in the heated pools overlooking the gorgeous mountains, why not also enjoy a tasty margarita or michelada?

Day 3

If you're searching for culture, then you've got to go to Guadalajara (which is why we're headed there today). After arriving in Guadalajara (domestic flight included), we'll start our day off with a unique glamping experience. Ever heard of bubble clamping before? Some people are a little hesitant about  spending the night in wilderness but, once you see where you'll be staying, I promise you'll forget all those fears!

I don't know about you but I can't wait to gaze at the stars until I KO!

This experience is super unique and, though I wouldn't call it "cultural," this gives you the

experience to bask in beautiful, peaceful nature while seeing a different side of Mexico.

Day 4

The next day, we'll depart from our glamping experience and head to our hotel for the next two days.

After settling in, we'll venture out and dive right into Guadalajara's street food scene. Are you ready to eat like a local in Guadalajara? We'll even use one of Guadalajara's oldest means of local transportation to get around (what better way to explore the city).

We will visit the largest indoor market in Latin America and a traditional barrio to taste iconic dishes of Jalisco: barbacoa, tort ahogada, birria, and more (vegetarian and vegan dishes can be prepared upon request).

Your taste buds will thank me!

DAY 5

Another reason many visit Guadalajara is to learn more about TEQUILAAA!! Guadalara is actually a city in the state of Jalisco and Jalisco is one of the few Mexican states that are legally allowed to produce tequila.

Today, we're boarding the Jose Cuervo Express train to learn more about tequila from start-to-finish. Of course, this train excursion includes all of the drinks you could possibly want. I dare you to be sober by the time we return back to the station.

The Jose Cuervo express departs from Guadalajara in the morning and we'll travel to Tequila, Jalisco. We'll enjoy educational tastings and shows, visit famous distilleries, and will even get a chance to go to an actual agave field to see how agave is harvested.

This is not your typical Amtrak type of train. We'll be riding in our very own private VIP train car.

Wait, did I mention we'll have our own open bar on board?!  Maybe I should've started with

that before I dared you to remain sober!

DAY 6

It's time to head back to Mexico City for our last two days of Mexico before you have to head home. We promise to make these two days so memorable that you forget you'll be returning home!

After checking in to our hotel, we'll give you some time to unwind before we head to a Lucha Libre match. Everyone might not be into wrestling but have you ever been front and center at one of the most entertaining experiences of your life (I grew up watching wrestling with my grandfather so I'm super stoked about this!!). Who knows? You might even get called into the ring to perform.

DAY 7

Today is our last full day in Mexico. After breakfast, we'll head to Teotihuacan Pyramids for a hot air balloon experience over these gorgeous world wonders! How could would it be to see some of the oldest landmarks known to man from an aerial  point of view? For those of you who are afraid of heights....trust me, you'll want to face your fears for this experience. After our hot air balloon ride, you'll have time to explore the pyramids and learn more about these historic structures.

All of this exploring probably helped you work up an appetite, right? Our last group lunch will be in a cave. Yup, that's right. We're going to dine in a restaurant in a cave....how's that for unique eating experiences?

After dinner, we'll end our trip with a memorable dance and we'll learn from the best. Enjoy a unique

dance show and you're welcome to join in!

Day 8

This has been a great experience and, though we return to our final destinations today, we have built connections and created memories that will last forever!
